Thinking about therapy?
Can Psychotherapy change your life?

"The past is over.  The future is not here yet.  All we have is this moment, so let's make the most of it"

Fritz Perls

Welcome to your local psychotherapy service in Hertfordshire

Finding someone who truly listens and understands can be the first step towards meaningful change. I offer individual psychotherapy rooted in Gestalt practice — a relational, humanistic approach that focuses on your lived experience in the here and now.

Gestalt psychotherapy emphasises self-awareness, personal responsibility, and the integration of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It can help you better understand your patterns, gain insight into your relationships, and begin to move towards greater emotional wellbeing.

Benefits of Gestalt psychotherapy may include:

  • Increased self-awareness and self-esteem

  • More fulfilling relationships

  • Improved emotional regulation

  • Greater clarity and confidence in daily life

"Therapy offers a safe, confidential place to talk to a trained professional about your feelings and concerns. You might talk about difficult events in your life, your relationships, emotions, or unhelpful patterns you’d like to change. Therapists don’t give advice or solve problems for you — instead, they listen with empathy and support you in making your own positive changes."
(BACP, 2019)

Home: About Me

My focus is on you

"We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening of this very special kind is one of the most potent forces for change that I know."
— Carl Rogers

This special kind of listening is at the heart of what I offer.

In our therapeutic relationship, I will listen with empathy, curiosity, and without judgment. Our work together is centred on deepening your awareness of your experiences, needs, and goals — creating the conditions for meaningful and lasting change.

How I work
A Human Centered Approach

I believe therapy is not about fixing you — it’s about being with you, understanding you, and helping you connect more deeply with yourself.

As a Gestalt Psychotherapist, I work with you as a whole person, not as a set of symptoms or a diagnosis. This approach honours your individuality and centres your experience in the here and now.

That means:

  • No judgement

  • No assumptions

  • No "one-size-fits-all" solutions

Instead, I offer a safe, supportive space to explore what’s really going on for you — emotionally, relationally, and somatically. My role is to walk alongside you, offering curiosity, empathy, and gentle challenge as we make sense of your experiences together.

What Happens in Sessions

Gestalt therapy is a collaborative process. We begin wherever you are and work at a pace that feels right for you.

In our sessions, I will:

  • Actively listen to your experiences with empathy and respect

  • Focus on what is emerging in the present moment

  • Help raise awareness of your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and patterns

  • Support you to explore relational dynamics — past and present

  • Empower you to come to your own conclusions about what’s right for you

We might use creative or experiential techniques (such as dialogue, imagery, or body awareness), but only if and when it feels appropriate.

Practical Details
  • Session length: 50 minutes

  • Frequency: Weekly (at the same time each week)

  • Format: In-person in Hertfordshire or online via secure video

  • Session type: One-to-one individual psychotherapy

There is no fixed number of sessions. Some clients work with me short-term, focusing on a specific issue, while others choose open-ended therapy for deeper personal development. We’ll regularly check in on how the work is going and adapt based on your evolving needs.

A Note on Safety and Respect

Therapy is a confidential and non-judgemental space. I am committed to creating a relationship based on trust, openness, and mutual respect. I will always work ethically, within the guidelines set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

"Change is painful, but nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong"
